NOVA Academy at Red Apple School students spent the last couple of weeks digging into the world of archaeology by creating their own ancient civilizations, crafting custom artifacts, and learning how scientists use evidence to uncover the past.
They put their skills to the test yesterday with a hands-on archaeological dig at Samuel Meyers Park! Classmates excavated each other's hidden artifacts and pieced together clues to decode the civilizations created by their peers.

Red Apple School hosted children's and youth author Kashmira Sheth this week to discuss her book Taking Flight. Students asked Kashmira questions about her childhood in India, becoming a microbiologist in college and what inspired her to start writing. Thank you for visiting our students!

Our beautiful grocery bags have been delivered to the Pick n Save on 4 Mile and Douglas. They are always so excited to get them back decorated with positive, encouraging messages and beautiful artwork.
New this Summer:
We are happy to announce that we will be offering Grab-and-Go Meals on Wednesday mornings from 8:30 am to 10:00 am at Gifford School.
This drive-thru service is available on a first-come, first-served basis, and children must be present to receive a week's worth of meals, including 7 breakfasts and 7 lunches.
We hope to see you next week at Culver's for our Red Apple Night on June 10th.

We had a wonderful event celebrating our retirees and our graduates this morning. Thank you everyone; families, staff, students and PTA who helped make this possible!!! It was wonderful to celebrate together!! Joyful noise through our new halls was fabulous!

Our 1st graders spent time today giving back to our school community by helping clean up the playground! 🌎🧹 Students worked together to take pride in keeping our outdoor spaces beautiful and safe for everyone.
They also wrapped up their butterfly unit by learning more about the butterfly life cycle before releasing their butterflies into nature. 🦋 What a wonderful way to connect learning, teamwork, and caring for our environment!

Our students had an amazing time learning all about weather, forecasting, and what it’s like to be a meteorologist. Brian made learning fun, engaging, and interactive, and our Kindergarteners loved asking questions and sharing their weather knowledge!

A renewed focus on early literacy has put our change in Reading Achievement on an upward trajectory for 3rd-8th-grade students since 2023. During that same time, the average of similar districts has fallen and leveled off.
