Due to the chance of severe weather throughout the evening and tomorrow, as well as outside temperatures and humidity, Field Day is being canceled. We will hold a regular day of school for our last day. If you decide to not send your child, simply call our Main Office at 664-8005 so we can properly mark their attendance. As much as we did not want to cancel Field Day for the first time in over a decade, our students' and staff safety must ALWAYS come first

As reading scores in Wisconsin continue to decline, we have made noticeable gains at Racine Unified!

A renewed focus on early literacy has put our change in Reading Achievement on an upward trajectory for 3rd-8th-grade students since 2023. During that same time, the average of similar districts has fallen and leveled off.

A graph displaying the change in Reading Achievement sind 2019 for 3-8 grade students. A notable takeaway is starting at 2023, test scores for RUSD began to climb while the average of the scores for Madison, Kenosha, Waukesha, Neenah and Green Bay's school districts continued to fall.

We invite our Knapp Elementary families to join us for our May Community Night on May 12 from 5:30 - 7 pm. As part of the evening, we will hold a brief memorial dedication beginning at 6 pm, honoring two of our beloved staff members whose lives were tragically lost last year. This ceremony will provide an opportunity for our school community to come together in remembrance, reflect on the lasting impact they had on our students and staff, and recognize the strength and unity that continues to carry us forward. Following the dedication, families are welcome to stay and enjoy time together with dinner, including hamburgers and hot dogs, root beer floats, board games, crafts, and a fun family activity. We understand this may be an emotional evening, and we warmly welcome all who wish to attend in support, remembrance, and community.
