The fall book fair is October 26-30, 2026 in the library. Set up your child's eWallet in advance to make purchasing easy! The book fair will be open during conferences on Thursday until 7 p.m. and on Friday at 8:30-10:30 a.m. Learn more at https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bf/gilmorefinearts.

We are collecting new socks for men, women, and children throughout the month of October. The socks will be donated to HALO. One classroom at each grade level will receive a popcorn and sweet treat prize in November (this is the incentive as we will be logging the totals by classroom and posting it in the lobby).

These students demonstrated exemplary dining etiquette during their lunchtime for our first three weeks of school. They kept their volume reasonable, stayed in their seats, and kept their space clean. They were rewarded with a "Fancy Lunch," which included being dismissed for lunch first, table decorations, and music while they dined.

Last week our K-5 students celebrated completing our year-long Amira Reading Challenge 📚 In total, students read 25,233 stories this year, beating our goal of 25,000! The top reader from each class was given the opportunity to pie a teacher of their choice. We also acknowledged a few special accomplishments:
⭐Ms. Lenart's class read the most stories as a class - 3,482 stories
⭐Miles Harvey read the most stories as a student - 284 stories
⭐Mrs. Idstein's class grew the most in their skills - improving by 16%
Congrats to all students and staff on their hard work this year!
As reading scores in Wisconsin continue to decline, we have made noticeable gains at Racine Unified!
A renewed focus on early literacy has put our change in Reading Achievement on an upward trajectory for 3rd-8th-grade students since 2023. During that same time, the average of similar districts has fallen and leveled off.
