We invite you to help us identify the educators whose stories should be told. Nominate a colleague, or yourself, for The Passions Project 2026!

Nomination form: https://tinyurl.com/mwwhbtvs

Your nomination ensures that the authentic voices and experiences of our staff are represented and celebrated. Together, these narratives will shine a light on the humanity, commitment and passion within our school community.

Learn more about The Passions Movement at www.thepassionsmovement.com

THE PASSIONS PROJECT, spearheaded by Racine Educators United (and with support from the NEA CAPE Grant) is designed to uplift educator voices, celebrate the power of public education and help our community better understand the incredible work happening in our schools every day. Through this initiative, we hope to highlight the dedication, diversity and resilience that define Racine’s educators with a visual storytelling series that will feature 10 public school educators and the mentors who shaped them. Each story will be brought to life through professional portraits and video interviews.

To conclude Hispanic Heritage Month, we'd like to highlight this mother/daughter duo. 📗📘 Ms. Rivera, a Dual Language teacher at Julian Thomas Elementary School, wrote this bilingual book and her daughter, Rocio, a student at Gilmore Fine Arts K-8, put her artistic skills to work illustrating this story.

Check out this interview they did in Spanish for Telemundo Wisconsin, introducing The Best of Me for You.
