A BIG 🐻 shout out to Wadewitz Elementary for the amazing work they did before winter break!
They held a week-long food drive to benefit the Racine Food Bank. They collected more than 1,000 food items!
Wadewitz's Student Leadership group, led by Mr. Sommer and Ms. Zee, did a great job organizing this! Ms. Mahoney’s 3rd-grade class won a pizza party by bringing in the most items. 🍕🍕🍕 #YouBelongHere

Juniors from the Academies of Racine at Case, Park and Horlick got a chance to see what a future career in Protective Services could entail. With the help of local firefighters, police and EMTs, the students went through several different simulations, including Stop the Bleed, fingerprinting, CPR and more.

A combination of snow and wind will hit our area right in the heart of after-school bussing today, likely creating slick roads and reduced visibility. Our bus drivers will be cautious (as always) but please know students may be late arriving home.

Amy Hernandez Maack, Music Teacher at The Academies of Racine at Gifford and Jerstad-Agerholm sang the National Anthem for the Marquette Golden Eagles on Saturday at Fiserv Forum!
Marquette University was honoring Native American Heritage Month this last day of November and Amy is an enrolled member of the Lipan Apache Tribe. #YouBelongHere

The days are getting shorter, the sun is shining less and these seasonal changes can definitely take a toll on our mental health. The good news is, there are ways to curb not only the winter blues, but also promote mental wellness all year round.
RUSD Parent University invites you to learn more about mental health at all ages, discover resources and ask questions about this important health topic at our next virtual session that you can join here: https://meet.google.com/rks-faeo-zgx. It’s taking place Thursday, Dec. 12 from 6 - 7 p.m. We hope to see you there!
