Are you connected to a local non profit organization that you think would be a good fit for the Impact Your Community Expo on October 2, 2025??? Please share the following information any local non profits you may be connected to. We would love to bring in our Starbuck families and friends to help support the event since Starbuck is joining for the first time this year!!
🌟 Impact Your Community Expo 🌟

The Academies of Racine is excited to invite community organizations to join us for our second, bi-annual Impact Your Community Expo!

This inspiring event will bring together 8th grade students from Gifford, Mitchell, Schulte, Jerstad-Agerholm, and Starbuck International (K–8). Students will have the opportunity to learn how they can positively impact their community and begin developing their required MYP Community Projects.

📝 What to Expect

Setup begins at 8:00 am

Expo runs 9:00–11:30 am

Organizations will present four 30-minute workshops to small groups of 15–20 students.

Presenters should:

Share real-world issues facing our community.

Explain how your nonprofit works to address those challenges.

Include success stories showing impact on families and the community.

Provide project ideas that students can choose from to support your organization’s goals.

🌍 Why This Matters

The Impact Your Community Expo is more than an event—it’s an opportunity to connect students with authentic experiences that help them grow as:

Caring, Principled, Reflective learners who recognize their role in shaping a better world.

Communicators and Thinkers who develop meaningful, student-led projects.

By engaging with organizations like yours, students will connect the IB Mission—to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people—with the Starbuck Vision of empowering every student to rise as a compassionate, knowledgeable global citizen.

Jerstad Agerholm's RUSD Extended Learning Basketball & Life Skills Camp travelled to Starbuck yesterday for a scrimmage. Both teams played very well, with lots of hustle and teamwork! Jerstad-Agerholm won 62-56, but it was neck and neck for most of the game! 🏀
These teams will meet up again next Tuesday to play at Jerstad-Agerholm for their final scrimmage of the summer. #YouBelongHere

"What IS the deal with summer? One minute you're at a barbecue, the next you're buying notebooks like it's some kind of school-supply apocalypse!" 📝🌭
We're halfway through summer, folks. HALF. That means it's time to take a break from pool floats and popsicles and start perusing sales for pocket folders and pencil cases. Find your school's supply list here: rusd.org/supplylists
