Omanshi Gupta, a fifth grader at Starbuck International Baccalaureate K-8 School, took first place in the Wisconsin Association for Bilingual Education (WIABE) writing contest!
After moving from India to Racine in 2023, Omanshi overcame the challenges of adjusting to a new country and language by finding her voice and building her confidence. Her inspiring, first-place essay beautifully captures the pride she takes in her multilingual identity and highlights how sharing our unique cultures helps us connect and build a community where everyone belongs.
