Mark your calendars for March 2-6 and spread the word that it’s Kindergarten Enrollment Week! Join us at the RUSD Welcome Center located at 3109 Mt. Pleasant St. (hours below) to register your 4 or 5-year-old for the 2026-27 school year. We’ll have staff on-site to help answer all your questions and set your child up for success. Plus, every student who registers in person will receive a FREE backpack while supplies last. If you can’t make it in, enroll online at rusd.org/enroll.
Kindergarten is so much more than the ABC’s. For four-year-olds, it helps children get excited about school, learn classroom routines and develop language, math, social, emotional and problem-solving skills. For five-year-olds, kindergarten prepares them for first grade and beyond through positive work, play and learning.
RUSD offers some of the best state-recognized 4K and 5K programs taught by licensed, award-winning teachers. Our 4K program is one of the most expansive and accessible programs around, with both full- and half-day options, and even dual language options for students to start learning in both English and Spanish.
K4: Programs are widely available. Children must turn 4 by September 1 to be eligible (full and half-day programs available).
K5: Children must turn 5 by September 1 to be eligible.

Please make sure you bring your ID, child’s birth certificate and proof of address (utility bill, bank statement, paystub or lease) to complete your child’s registration.
