Woot Woot 🎉🎉Give it up for our Park Staff Member of the Week Amanda Lopez!!!! Amanda is our ESL teacher within the Freshman Academy. Although this is her first year at Park, she has brought a wealth of knowledge to Park from years within the district. Amanda is active on our school's BELONG team which focuses on equitible instructional access for students. Additionally, Amanda was a huge help during our ACCESS testing and success with participation.
Amanda has built a strong trust and relationship with our freshman students, assisting them in their transition to high school and aiding them to attain credit. THE PASSIONS PROJECT, spearheaded by Racine Educators United (and with support from the NEA CAPE Grant) is designed to uplift educator voices, celebrate the power of public education and help our community better understand the incredible work happening in our schools every day. Through this initiative, we hope to highlight the dedication, diversity and resilience that define Racine’s educators with a visual storytelling series that will feature 10 public school educators and the mentors who shaped them. Each story will be brought to life through professional portraits and video interviews.
The best of the best for our Park Staff Member of the Week: Dawn Kraczek!!!! Dawn is in our social studies department teaching AP Psychology, psychology, African-American History and does our social studies credit recovery. Students love her approach balancing both high expectations and understanding. Dawn loves her students and seeks out success for all! Beyond being an expert teacher, she is also our team lead for the Health & Public Service Academy. Her leadership and mentorship has aided many Park staff over the years and has made Park a better place. With her direction, HaPS is an accredited academy by NCAC!!!!
