Rashaad Henderson, Park High School, Class of 2020
Where did life lead you after high school?
After graduating from Park High School, I attended the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh, majoring in Mechanical Engineering Technology. I also competed on the Men's Track and Field team during the four years I attended the school.
What are you doing now?
Currently, I work as a Mechanical Design Engineer at MPE-Inc. The company specializes in the manufacturing of various medical devices, from simple hospital carts to AI-driven surgical robots.
What are your long-term goals?
My main priority as a professional is to empower the youth who come after me. Seeing a person who looks like me in this STEM field is a feat in itself and I hope to inspire likeminded-youth that it is entirely possible to be successful in this field - no matter where you come from.
How did your high school experience help prepare you for the life you are leading and what is to come?
The Engineering Pathway at Park made it abundantly clear that this is the field I wanted to go into. The combination of the talented faculty and courses I was enrolled in illustrated the professional future I am living now. I cannot speak any higher about the program, supportive staff and overall environment during my time at Park High School. I would recommend this Pathway to any student looking to get ahead in the world of STEM.
