Calling All Youth Volunteers!! (For this training, students must have a license, or in the process of obtaining one. Or, a parent who has a passion for weather and doesn't mind going with their student weather spotting!)

Are you a student that has an interest in science or weather? Then this training is for you!! Come join us as we partner with the National Weather Service to train students to be CERTIFIED weather spotters!

Wisconsin weather spotter training (SKYWARN) a free, annual National Weather Service (NWS) program training volunteers to identify and report severe weather, filling in blind spots in radar technology. Sessions teach thunderstorm structure, safety, and reporting criteria for tornadoes, hail, and wind. These reports help meteorologist issue accurate, faster warnings.

*Becoming a certified weather spotter is a VOLUNTEER position. You only go out and spot weather as it fits your schedule.

*Students will receive volunteer hours for the training, and anytime they go out and spot weather. (Must email swebb@volunteerracine.org with hours spent weather spotting for credit.)

📈 JA Stock Market Challenge – Statewide Recap 📉 Today, our students Cale, Reece, and Paityn competed at the Junior Achievement of Wisconsin Statewide Stock Market Challenge held at the Johnsonville Global Headquarters. The Junior Achievement (JA) Stock Market Challenge is a live, fast-paced simulation where high school students manage a mock portfolio in a simulated 60-day market. Students apply classroom learning in real time—analyzing trends, reacting to breaking news, and making strategic investment decisions while working as a team. Eleven teams from five regions across Wisconsin qualified for this exciting event, all competing for the chance to advance to the national competition in Boston this July. While our team didn’t come away with the win this time, they represented our program with professionalism, resilience, and strong collaboration under pressure. Proud of their effort and growth—this is real-world learning in action! 💼📊

⚾ Accounting Comes to Life!🎓

This month students in the Accounting Pathway participated in an exciting Accounting Career Awareness experience - made possible through the generous support of the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants. (WI CPA)

Held at American Family Field in partnership with the Milwaukee Brewers, students got a behind-the-scenes look at how accounting plays a vital role in a professional sports organization. From budgeting and financial reporting to ticket sales and sponsorships, the Brewers’ Business Operations team shared real-world insights that brought classroom concepts to life. Students also had the chance to network and enjoy the game - making this both an educational and memorable experience!

👏 Thank you to WICPA for helping us connect learning to real career pathways and inspire the next generation of business professionals.

🎢✨ Big things are happening in our Senior Capstone class!

Our students have teamed up with Bear Paw Adventure Park to dive into the world of social media marketing and consumer behavior. Their mission? To figure out what makes YOU choose one adventure park over another—and how Bear Paw can level up their marketing game for their ropes course! 🌲🧗‍♂️

To get real insights, students hosted focus groups with fellow high schoolers to uncover what grabs attention, drives decisions, and gets people excited to visit. 👀📱

Now, they’re turning that data into creative, targeted marketing strategies designed to attract the right audience and bring more adventurers to Bear Paw!

Stay tuned… you might just see their ideas come to life soon! 🚀🔥
