The days are getting shorter, the sun is shining less and these seasonal changes can definitely take a toll on our mental health. The good news is, there are ways to curb not only the winter blues, but also promote mental wellness all year round.
RUSD Parent University invites you to learn more about mental health at all ages, discover resources and ask questions about this important health topic at our next virtual session that you can join here: https://meet.google.com/rks-faeo-zgx. It’s taking place Thursday, Dec. 12 from 6 - 7 p.m. We hope to see you there!

We are thrilled to announce that Ava Kerbawy represented RUSD at the Wisconsin School Music Association (WSMA) Middle-Level State Honors Orchestra concert held in Verona! This prestigious event showcased the extraordinary abilities of Wisconsin's junior high and middle school music students, and Ava stood out among them.
Ava was one of 313 students selected from over 1,100 who auditioned for a spot in the Orchestra, Band, and Choir Ensembles.
Participating in the WSMA State Honors Music Project allowed her to work alongside nationally recognized conductor Dr. Mark Laycock of Wichita State University and other accomplished musicians from across the state. This experience provided invaluable enrichment opportunities as Ava learned and collaborated with some of Wisconsin's finest young talents and music educators.
Congratulations, Ava! #YouBelongHere

Red Apple Elementary will soon become a K-8 STEAM school in a beautiful, brand-new building equipped to focus on science, technology, engineering, arts and math! As we prepare to open the new school a little over a year from now, the RUSD Board of Education has proposed renaming the school after a local STEAM hero - Dr. Laurel Clark. A graduate of Horlick High School and NASA astronaut, Dr. Clark was killed in the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster. She was posthumously awarded the Congressional Space Medal of Honor.
At this time, the Board of Education would like your feedback on renaming Red Apple School in honor of Dr. Clark. Please take a moment to fill out this brief survey:
