Jimmy Boatner of Park High School poses for a photo in the halls of The BEE Center.

Jimmy Boatner, a senior at Park High School, is gaining hands-on experience as a youth apprentice at the Bull Early Education Center (BEE Center), where he helps teach 4-year-olds. Working alongside teacher Kelly Newby, Boatner supports classroom activities, supervises playtime, and builds strong connections with students who affectionately call him “Mr. Jimmy.” His enthusiasm, reliability, and positive attitude have made him a valued member of the BEE Center's team.

Boatner is one of 230 students participating in the Racine Area Manufacturers and Commerce (RAMAC) youth apprenticeship program, which provides paid, real-world experience to high school juniors and seniors. Through this role, he has learned the importance of patience while working with young children and discovered a passion for helping them grow. He hopes to pursue a future career in child social work or psychology, using this experience as a foundation to make a positive impact on children’s lives.
