Case VITA Program Helps 85 People with Taxes

While Case High School students participating in this year's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program in partnership with United Way of Racine County had their tax assisting season cut short, their numbers told a different story.

The program usually runs from early February through Tax Day on April 15. However, this year they had to close the site early because of COVID-19, cutting the program from 10 weeks to 5 weeks.

In 5 weeks these students were able to still increase their community impact from last year assisting 85 taxpayers and helping to bring $172,657 back to the Racine community in refund dollars.

This is a 105% increase in dollars over last year.

Way to go, Case High School!
