All students  within RUSD are eligible for voluntary student accident coverage.  Families can enroll their student(s) anytime throughout the school year.

RUSD Extended Learning (grades K-12)

The Extended Learning Program, in continuing partnership with families, schools and community, supports academic success and social development for youth. We support a stronger Racine community through after school enrichment programs in the arts, literacy, math, science, culture, health and wellness and mentoring.

John XXIII Educational Center (middle/high school)

The John XXIII Educational Center is open from 4-5:30 p.m. and 6:30-8:30 p.m. The Center is an afterschool, supervised study hall that offers mentoring and tutoring to middle and high school students. John XXIII also offers individual guidance on planning for college or the workforce, and building teamwork and resiliency skills through our Thursday Theme Nights. 

Registration is open throughout the school year to all middle and high school students regardless of race, religion or background. There is a recommended $25.00 contribution per semester for instructional materials, there are other options for contribution upon request.

Cops & Kids Reading Center (ages 3-12)

At Cops ‘N Kids Reading Center, children are encouraged to develop a love of reading, given access to a computer lab ad chromebooks for curriculum assistance, taught art by teachers from the Racine Art Museum, and lessons in music education. Students meet from 4-6 p.m. Monday through Thursday according to their age and grade level.

Racine Family YMCA YLA (age 7-18)

The Young Leaders Academy (YLA) is a year-round program consisting of three components dedicated to reversing the negative trend of low academic achievement and stereotypical behavior of youth in Racine, WI. The YLA’s mission is to nurture the development of leadership abilities and life skills of youth, empowering them to improve the quality of their life and assist them in becoming productive citizens.

Mrs. Myers' Reading Room

Mrs. Myers' Reading Room was founded by Tammy Myers. For the last 25 years, Myers has been using a unique education method that she created and has since patented. The Myers’ Method combines multiple traditional methods with some new methods to form an innovative, state of the art program that helps children in all walks of life with a variety of needs. These programs are framed around children’s natural high energy and individual interests, technology, music, and games.
