Attention Class of 2018 Graduating Seniors…New Scholarships Offered! (Rev. 3/8/18)

All of the scholarships listed below are due to the Horlick High School Main Office:
NO LATER THAN 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 27, 2018.
(2) $500.00 scholarships - The applicant must be going on to a university, college, or technical school after graduation and must be pursuing a higher education in Art.
$500.00 - This scholarship is in memory of Robert Douglas, who was a Science teacher at Jerstad Middle School. Mr. Douglas passed away this winter and in lieu of flowers, his family asked for memorials to be donated for educational purposes. In his honor, Mrs. Helen Douglas would like to honor a graduating senior with a $500.00 scholarship. This scholarship will be awarded to a “future teacher”…a student who is attending a college or university majoring in education (math or science preferably).
$300.00 - Must be going into Nursing. This scholarship was funded by Horlick Alumni and Graduate of Distinction, Richard Kizewic in memory of his wife, Horlick Alumni and Graduate of Distinction Shirley Kizewic. Shirley was passionate about nursing throughout her entire life. This scholarship was created in her memory to be awarded to a student who is attending a college or university majoring in nursing.
$250.00 - This Scholarship was created by the Class of 1961 to honor Henrietta Welch, who was a Music Teacher in Racine Unified Schools for over 35 years. She taught at Washington Jr. High School (now Red Apple Elementary School) for 18 years and then at Starbuck Middle School for 17 years. The Henrietta Welch Theater at Starbuck is named for her. This scholarship will be awarded to students who will be attending a college or university majoring in music or music education.
$1000.00 - This scholarship was created in memory of Dwaine L. Anderegg, Assistant Superintendent of Business Services for Racine Unified School District from 1960 until 1985, and father of four Horlick High School graduates.
Must be majoring in Business or Accounting
$1000.00 (pays $500.00 1st Semester and $500.00 2nd Semester. See additional information on application form) - This scholarship fund was created by Horlick Alumni from the Class of 1953. Student must enroll in a higher education school, technical school or college within the state of Wisconsin. Student may attend a 2 or 4 year program leading to a vocational or bachelor level degree. Financial Considerations: The student to be considered would likely be unable to pursue higher education without some non-family financial support.
