Beginning the week of Feb. 4, RUSD app users will be required to update their app to receive push notifications due to a change in Google.
You can now get all the latest RUSD information straight to your cell phone without ever having to answer the phone! RUSD will now notify parents and guardians via text message with important District and school information.
On Thursday, Oct. 18, RUSD celebrated 105 Encore! Awards in Education winners. These RUSD staff members have demonstrated success in the classroom, fostered excellent academic achievement and consistently contribute to making their school or workplace a better place.
Beginning this fall, RUSD is implementing the use of ALiCE, an active shooter response training program, (i.e. alert, lockdown, inform, counter and evacuate) in all of our schools. Security experts across the country believe, as do we, that the use of these additional procedures will enhance student and staff safety.

Gifford Student, Alex Hart-Upendo, Wins State Merit In Discovery Education 3M Young Scientist Challenge
Discovery Education and 3M have announced that Alex Hart-Upendo, a fifth grade student from Gifford School (Racine Unified School District) has been named the state merit winner for Wisconsin in the Discovery Education 3M Young Scientist Challenge, the nation’s premier middle school science competition.
