Welcome to Gifford School!

July 2017

What a year it was! Our first year as a K-8 school was exciting, scary, bumpy and wonderful! Our GATOR PRIDE was evident throughout!  We continued our work to create the best learning environment we could to meet the needs of all students. With over 1500 students this year, we are adding a lot of new staff and we can't be more enthusiastic about our teachers, staff, students and community.  Gifford School is situated on 23 acres in Franksville.  Our mission remains to prepare students for the future.  We work hard daily to prepare children to reach their potential and beyond.  Our vision is for both students and staff alike!

Gifford Gators will be the best we can be by reaching our individual growth goals and contributing to our community.

As our school continues to grow, we are continuously adding staff to ensure our students are being served.  The administrative team is growing as well.  I continue to serve the community as principal.  Mr. Campbell also continues and will be the assistant principal working with grades 4K, 2, 7, an 8. We are joined by Mrs. Heather Bennett working with grades 1, 5, and 6 and Mr. Lewis Malczewski working with grades K, 3, and 4. We are adding to our 1st, 5th, 7th and 8th grade teams as we continue to grow. We have also added to our allied arts specialists. We have wished several of our staff members well as they continue their professional endeavors.

For our new families, I would like to welcome you and your student to Gifford.  For our returning families, I am excited you continue to trust us with educating your student.  Summer is a time to relax, refresh, and refocus and I hope you and your family were able to take some time to enjoy each other.  I am confident this year will be better than ever!  Our staff is one of the best in Racine and we are ready to work with you to help your student succeed.

Our school day remains the same: 8:35 a.m. - 3:35 p.m.  Breakfast is served from 8:15-8:35.  Regular attendance is a strong indicator for success.  Please help your student arrive on time to school.  If you choose to drive your student to school, there are areas for students to stand outside and wait for the bell to ring. Any adult wishing to enter the building needs to check in at the main office.  We do this for the safety of our students.  Our office staff will provide you with a visitor's pass if you need to go to your child's classroom. Don’t be offended if we ask for ID when checking your student out, we do this for the safety of our children. This year, Inifinite Campus will be instumental. Please contact the office for your login information and update your phone numbers, list students allowed to pick up your student from school and access grades and attendance.

As summer continues, look back at our website for more information and Like Us on Facebook!  Once again, I hope you have had an enjoyable summer thus far and will continue to enjoy the days that remain.

Best Regards,

Mary Cline
