Gifford Planetarium's February Program Announced


The Planetarium at Gifford Elementary School will hold a series of evening programs that are open to the public. All programs are from 7 - 8 p.m. Reservations are requested. Please call (262) 619-4587 or email John Surendonk at and include your name, phone number and number of seats requested.

Two Small Pieces of Glass: Tuesday, Feb. 24 and Thursday, Feb. 26 at 7 p.m.

“Two Small Pieces of Glass” is a visually stunning look at the history of the telescope and how these amazing devices have helped us understand our place in the universe.  The program will take the audience through the eyepiece of a telescope to explore the Galilean Moons, Saturn’s rings, the spiral structure of galaxies, and much more. 

The viewer will also learn of the discoveries of Galileo, Newton, Hubble, and many others. The evening program will conclude with a look at the February evening sky.  Free star maps will be available.
