Case Students Introduce Pathways to 1st Graders Through Kid-Friendly Activities

Case students in Kari Morey's IB Personal and Professional Skills course visited Goodland Elementary today to introduce Melissa Pallin's 1st graders to career opportunities. The high school students created kid-friendly, hands on projects related to skills that stem from their pathway, including career cards that feature fun facts and diverse people working in each field. The activities came in kits that they donated to the school for any class to check out and use in the future. They also made You Tube videos explaining the activity to other teachers. Each activity is differentiated to meet a wide range of ability levels from K-5th grade.  Some activities included engineering and building a bridge or house, identifying bones in an x-ray, learning how to code for video games, playing a board game about owning a business, and designing advertisements.
