RUSD IT Team Earns National Cybersecurity Award

Infosec has announced winners of the 2020 Infosec Inspire Security Awareness Awards. Held annually, the award program recognizes Infosec clients’ most impactful, innovative and empowering security awareness and training initiatives.

RUSD's Chief Information Office has won the Impact Award!

The Impact Award celebrates the successes of Infosec’s most inspiring clients and partners with innovative security awareness and training initiatives to empower employees and motivate effective security habits.

“Selecting this year’s Infosec Inspire Security Awareness Awards winners was not easy,” said Jack Koziol, CEO and founder of Infosec. “Reading our clients’ success stories and seeing the impact of their training programs on their overall security posture — and more importantly, culture — was seriously impressive. Both winners and finalists from this year’s awards serve as leaders and inspiration for every member of our community.”

RUSD’s Chief Information Office deployed its first security awareness and training program in September 2019, and has since reduced the district’s phishing simulation click rate from 23.7% to just 7%. The team at RUSD attributes their program success to extensive, personalized communication with leadership at each school, as well as effectively translating training program benefits to every learner in the program. This includes sharing real-life cybersecurity stories and lessons learned, linking secure habits to protecting student identities and showing learners how they can apply lessons from the training to every aspect of their digital lives.
