RUSD Celebrates Almost 2,000 Years of Service

Last week, RUSD celebrated more than 1,909 years of service with a special celebration of our 2020 retirees, social distance edition!

Although we would have much preferred to honor our retirees during our traditional retirement dinner, we did not want to miss the opportunity to wish them well. So, RUSD took to the streets delivering yard signs and Certificates of Achievement to our retirees homes.

Every year, RUSD comes up with a theme for the school year. This year our theme was See the Leader in Me. Who knew when we came up with that theme in August, it would be even more prevalent in our world today. Throughout the years, our retirees have guided their school or building through good and difficult times and made a difference in our student’s lives in their own way. Whether it’s been in the classroom, in the office, hallway, or central office, they are part of someone’s success story.

We hope that all our retirees look back fondly at the legacy they've created in the Racine Unified School District and will display their yard sign with pride.
