McKinley Middle School Students Present Passion Projects

Eighth grade students at McKinley Middle School presented their Passion Projects, a cumulating project of students IB Middle Years Programme, last month.
Students begin the project at the beginning of the year by defining a goal to address a need in the community. From there, students develop a proposal for action for their community project and maintain a process journal throughout the project.
This year, projects included ways of helping the homeless and battling diabetes. In addition, student made cards for cancer patients, taught younger students diving and even had therapy dogs come into the classrooms for students to study stress.

Students presented their Passion Projects to students and their families during an exhibition.
