Gilmore Music Sweeps the Competition at Nashville Music Festival


The Gilmore Middle School Music Department had a very rewarding and fun time in Nashville, TN!

Below are the results from their performances:

Gilmore Swing Choir: Gold Rating!

Gilmore Jazz Ensemble: Gold Rating! Also, a Maestro Award for Outstanding Soloist to vocalist Serena Vasquez for her solo on Cry Me a River!

Gilmore Unified Chamber Orchestra: Gold Rating! Also, a Maestro Award for Outstanding Soloist to cellist Nolan Boerner for his solo on Allegra for Cello and String Orchestra!

Gilmore Madrigal Choir: Gold Rating! Also, an invitation to Carnegie Hall to participate in the Festival of Gold, Outstanding Choral Group, and were chosen by the adjudicators as their top choral group of the festival with the Adjudicators Award! Mrs. Bieri also found out that the Madrigal Choir had the highest score of any group for the entire festival!

Gilmore received the Choral Sweepstakes Award for the school with the two highest scoring choirs!

Gilmore Music Department received the Festival Sweepstakes Award for the group with the highest scoring school with both choral and instrumental ensembles!

One student was also nominated for the Ovation Award, an award given to one student out of all groups at the festival. This student is someone who exemplifies characteristics beyond music that we wish all students to have. Our first ever person to win this prestigious award is none other than, Jazz Band President, Swing and Madrigal Choir Member, Veronica Rios!
