Gifford Kindergartners Celebrate 100 Days of School by Giving Back

Kindergarteners at Gifford School were hard at work in the classroom helping those in need. To celebrate the 100th day of school, every kindergartener was asked to collect 100 items.

On Monday, students filled the cafeteria, putting together care packages - 100 care packages to be exact - and coloring signs for people in the community.

"Each class had a specific amount of things they had to collect, 100 socks, 100 deodorants and everybody exceeded their goal, so it was pretty awesome," said Teresa Losiniecki, kindergartener teacher.

Gifford School has seven kindergarten classes, so that's 700 items collected! The care packages will go to Racine's Hospitality Center for the homeless.
