RITE Grant Program

The 2014 referendum has allowed RUSD to invest in the latest technology to support clasroom learning. One example of this is the Racine Innovative Technology Educator (RITE) grant. These grants are available to educators who clearly demonstrate proficiency in 1) use of technology at a high level for student learning and 2) describing how the proposed technology will be integrated into their curriculum. In the spring, grant recipients present the results of their grant at the RITE Grant Showcase. Check out this video featuring our spring 2017 recipients.

Gilmore Middle School 1:1 Initiative

In Jan. 2016, the Board of Education approved the purchase of more Chromebooks to implement a 1:1 technology program at Gilmore Middle School. The Chromebooks were delivered a couple weeks after the Board's vote. Since then, students scan out a Chromebook to start their school day and keep one computer for the entire day. Once they are done, they return the Chromebook back to its original charging cart. This allows each student equal access to technology throughout the school day.
