School-Based Mental Health

RUSD has partnered with local organizations to address issues surrounding Children’s Mental Health through a collaborative convened by The Johnson Foundation at Wingspread. Through the work of the Racine Collaborative for Children’s Mental Health, we have launched five elementary school-based mental health clinics at Fratt, Julian Thomas, Knapp, S.C. Johnson and Wadewitz schools as well as a community clinic serving all K-12 families in Racine at the Community Pathways Campus (2333 Northwestern Ave.). The BEE Center, our early childhood program, is offering specialized mental health counseling for our students and their parents along with innovative programs to also assist our teaching staff with best practices in integrating behavioral interventions for our preschool students. We hope to add more school-based mental health clinics.
