Career Planning

placeholder

Planning your career and making decisions about your future career is not something to do quickly with little thought.

For most people, career planning is a process that requires some thinking about who you are, what do you like doing, and what skills and abilities you have.  This process requires time and research about you and the world of work before you start putting you plan into action.

WISCareers

WISCareers software is designed to provide career development with a Wisconsin focus. It integrates self-assessment with in-depth and up-to-date career information that is easy to use and provides students with a realistic view of the best educational and career options for their future success.

WISCareers is available for use by any student in the Racine Unified School District and can be accessed at school or at home.

To access WISCAREERS, log in to its website by selecting the school your child is attending.

Work Permits

Most Wisconsin employers hiring or permitting minors ages 12-16 years to work must possess a valid work permit for each minor before work may be performed. The work permit establishes a minor’s proof of age and ensures that the employer, parent/guardian and minor are aware of the state child labor laws and regulations.

For more information on Child Labor Laws visit the Department of Workforce Development's website.
