Athletics & Co-Curriculars

placeholder

As we continue to prepare for a very unique start to the 2020-21 school year, we are faced with many difficult decisions. We want to share with you that based on the latest information and recommendations from our local health departments and in making every effort to ensure the safety and well-being of our students, coaches, staff and families, RUSD will be moving all fall sports to spring.

Our sports schedule will follow the alternative option provided by the WIAA. This modified schedule shortens all sports seasons to allow time for fall sports in the spring. Please see the revised high school sports schedule here.

We realize there might be an overlap with some sports. We will work with student-athletes and coaches to provide the best options for participation and address other questions as they arise.

All co-curriculars (e.g. clubs, band, choir, theater, cheer, etc.) are also temporarily suspended from in-person practices, meetings and competition.

We know that sports, fine arts and other co-curriculars are vitally important to student growth, well-being and engagement in school. We are developing ways to involve students in these opportunities through virtual means until it is safe to return to in-person activities.

Thank you for your continued understanding and support. Your partnership and involvement is integral to supporting our students through this change.
