As Racine continues to see an increase in COVID-19 cases, RUSD will begin the 2020-2021 school year (first-quarter; Sept. 1-Nov. 6) with 100% remote learning. Students will begin remote learning on September 1. You can view RUSD’s Smart Start 2020 plan here. We will share plans for the second-quarter no later than Oct. 19.
Please know that we want nothing more than to bring our students back to school face-to-face and commit to doing so when we know it is a safe decision.
Remote learning this spring was delivered in response to a national crisis. Our team has thoughtfully planned for a much more robust student learning structure this fall than what your child experienced last spring and we are working on plans for providing support to families assisting their children with remote learning at home.
- Students will be taught in a remote format by their school teacher(s) following a defined schedule. (See schedules by clicking the link in the blue box on the left)
- Details about instruction will be provided to parents in the coming weeks.
- Although still closed to the public, teachers and school staff will report to work and teach from their classrooms (except in extenuating circumstances).
