RUSD Principals Engaged in Culturally Responsive Workshop

On Wednesday, April 5, RUSD principals engaged in professional learning with Dr. Sharroky Hollie, author of Culturally and Linguistically Responsive Teaching and Learning. This is part of a year long journey with Dr. Hollie who has worked with RUSD Senior Leadership, Assistant Principals and six of our elementary schools.

In addition to receiving foundational training in culturally responsive practices, Goodland and Dr. Jones Elementary Schools have received additional training and coaching in the framework for infusing responsive practices into our diverse classrooms. The other elementary schools included Fratt, Mitchell, RCLA and SC Johnson.

Dr. Hollie also presented to a group of parents during an evening session in March. RUSD looks forward to continuing to work with Dr. Hollie in the upcoming school years.
