The New Olympia Brown Elementary School is Open!

On Wednesday, Aug. 24, Olympia Brown Elementary School Principal Zachary Jacobsmeier addressed more than 100 people as he stood in front of his brand new school.

“This is history,” Jacobsmeier said. “We couldn’t have gotten to this point without the help of so many people and I can’t thank them enough for their hard work and dedication to our school. I am so excited for you all to see inside these doors and to welcome our students into their new home away from home.”

Jacobsmeier, along with members of the School Board, District and school staff, students and local officials, cut the red ribbon to officially open the new Olympia Brown Elementary School!

Olympia Brown will be a science-focused school where students will get hands-on learning experiences to better prepare them for careers of the future.

After the ribbon cutting, the community was invited to take self-guided tours of the new building. Hundreds of people walked the halls of the new building, peering in classrooms and talking with excited teachers.

Olympia Brown welcomes back its students Sept. 1!
