North Star Vision
In the RUSD, all eyes are on the North Star.
The North Star Vision states that all students will graduate career and/or college ready. This vision aligns with the RUSD mission of “Educating Every Student to Succeed.”
The North Star Vision clearly identifies the path to successful completion of high school for all students. The path starts at kindergarten and runs through elementary, middle and high school. Key measures of success at grade levels along the way are used to monitor student progress.
Data is used to help educators identify gaps in the District’s progress. Each school is supported in efforts to address achievement gaps by developing improvement plans that are specific to the needs of its students.
The North Star Vision was rolled out in March 2009. For more than a year, a collaborative group that included representatives from stakeholder groups across the District worked together to create the North Star Vision.
