At the beginning of the school year, the Racine Truancy Committee offered an Anti-Truancy Video Contest for RUSD schools. Thirteen schools submitted videos for the contest. The top three were chosen by a panel of judges from across the community.

The Horlick High School PTSA received the Non-Traditional Program of the Year for secondary schools award at the state level for their Alive & Well event that was held in October. The program was about suicide awareness/prevention.
