S.C. Johnson Parent Involvement

placeholder

Parent involvement is important to us at SC Johnson School.  We believe it enhances the success of our students.  When parents are involved, it shows the students that education is important and lays the foundation to learning.  Parents can be involved by attending school conferences, school activities, reading the school newsletter and other notes sent home, viewing our website and Facebook page, signing up for the Remind app for your phone, checking your child's daily folder and calendar, volunteering, and keeping your information updated for optimal communication between you and school staff.

Reading with your child each night and assisting them with school goals and responsibilities is invaluable.  Talking with your child about their school day and career plans for the future, and putting education at the forefront in family conversations helps students dream big.

Our district provides translators at meetings and for phone calls.  Many of our Title I parent activities are done in collaboration with our PTO, Lighted Schoolhouse and outside agencies. We encourage you to participate in these events and also with these committees.  Title I District Parent Advisory Council meets four times during the school year (October, January, March & May).     We hope you will be a representative for our school.  The meetings are held at the Administrative Service Center.

During the year we will give you information regarding individual data and District test results during parent teacher conferences and school data results at Title I meetings/activities or PTA meetings.  We ask that you watch for parent surveys during the spring.  These surveys help us to evaluate whether the activities and the policies we have are helping you, our partners in education.
