Gilmore Fine Arts

Gilmore Fine Arts K8 (Fall 2018)

Gilmore Fine Arts opened its doors to students in kindergarten through eighth grade in fall 2018. Gilmore Fine Arts is a choice school within RUSD that offers world-class fine arts opportunities for elementary and middle school students. Renovations included updated classrooms and a new library and makerspace. 

 

The R.E.A.L. School

The R.E.A.L. School (Fall 2017)

The Racine Engineering, Arts and Leadership (REAL) School was founded in 2000 and maintains a vision of helping young people become excited about learning.

 

Olympia Brown Elementary

Olympia Brown Elementary School (Fall 2016)

The new Olympia Brown Elementary School is a science-focused school where students will get hands-on learning and experience to better prepare them for careers of the future.

 

Knapp Elementary

Knapp Elementary School (Fall 2016)

The new Knapp Elementary School is the first community school in Racine. Partnering with the United Way of Racine County, the new Knapp will strive to build partnerships with community resources to focus on academic, health, social services and community development and engagement. The goal of the community school is to improve student learning while building stronger families and healthy communities.

Gifford School expanded to welcome students in grades 6-8, making it a K-8 campus!

Aug. 19, 2015 Gifford Elementary School A groundbreaking ceremony was held as building construction officially began for the new Gifford Elementary School making it a K-8.
Aug. 17, 2015 Olympia Brown Elementary School A groundbreaking ceremony was held as building construction officially began at the site of the new Olympia Brown Elementary School.

Knapp, Olympia Brown and Gifford Elementary Schools

Board of Education approved plans to build a new Knapp Elementary School, Olympia Brown Elementary School and an addition to Gifford Elementary School making it a K-8. 
April 13, 2015 Knapp, Olympia Brown and Gifford Elementary Schools Architects presented initial plans for schools.

Jan. 26, 2015

Knapp Elementary School The Board of Education approved Bray Architects for professional architect services for the Knapp School project. Bray will begin drawing plans for a new Knapp Elementary School. The work will include the construction of a multiple story elementary school facility built on open space adjacent to the current Knapp Elementary School. The existing school building will eventually be removed after completion of the new facility. [Read more]
Jan. 26, 2015 Olympia Brown Elementary School The Board of Education approved an agreement with Zimmerman Architectural Studio for the professional architect service to begin drawing plans for a new Olympia Brown Elementary School. [Read more]
  
The work will include the construction of a single story elementary school to be built on an empty lot of approximately 20 acres located in the area of 5 ½ mile and Middle Roads in Caledonia. The facility will likely be approximately 60,000 square feet. 
Jan. 26, 2015 Gifford Elementary School The Board of Education approved the hiring of Partners in Design, an architectural firm based in Kenosha, to begin drawing plans for an addition to Gifford Elementary School (to create a K-8 school).The work will include necessary improvements to the existing school to accommodate middle school use and a single level elementary school facility to be constructed on open space adjacent to the current school. The new construction is likely to be approximately 60,000-70,000 square feet and will accommodate grades 4K – 8. [Read more]
