Welcome to Gifford School!
I can't believe another school year is upon us! It is an exciting time to be a GATOR! We will open Gifford School on September 1, 2016. We are nearly doubling in size. Our school is situated on 23 achers in Franksville and next year will serve nearly 1300 students from 3K-8th grade. Our mission is to prepare students for the future. Last year the staff spent time working on a vision for our students. We work hard daily to prepare children to reach their potential and beyond. Our vision is for both students and staff alike!
Gifford Gators will be the best we can be by reaching our individual growth goals and contributing to our community.
First and foremost, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself formally. My name is Mrs. Mary Cline and in May 2015, I was asked to support the students and staff of Gifford by joining the staff as co-principal. I was asked to continue as principal for this school year. I have been with RUSD since 2009; first as an associate principal at Olympia Brown and Knapp, then as an assistant principal at Jerstad-Agerholm Middle School and as the principal of Jerstad-Agerholm Elementary School. Gifford's administrative team will also include Mr. Leslie Hunt and Mr. Scott Campbell. Mr. Hunt is the Elementary Principal in Charge. He will focus his work with 3k-3rd grade while Mr. Campbell is the assistant principal working with grades 4-8. We are planning like crazy to create the best school ever!
I would like to welcome you and your student to a new school year! Summer is a time to relax, refresh, and refocus and I hope you and your family were able to take some time to enjoy each other. I am confident this year will be better than ever! Our staff is one of the best in Racine and we are ready to work with you to help your student succeed.
Our school hours are changing. We will begin at 8:35 a.m. and end at 3:35 p.m. If your student is joining us for breakfast, we will serve from 8:15-8:35. It is important that all children arrive on time for school. If you choose to drive your student to school, there are areas for students to stand outside and wait for the bell to ring. Any adult wishing to enter the building needs to check in at the main office. We do this for the safety of our students. Our office staff will provide you with a visitor's pass if you need to go to your child's classroom. Don’t be offended if we ask for ID when checking your student out, we do this for the safety of our children.
As summer continues, look back at our website for more information! Once again, I hope you have had an enjoyable summer thus far and will continue to enjoy the days that remain.
When entering our school, each student is given a folder with important information. Below are links to the documents in that folder.
