On-line Resources for Students and Parents

You and your child can access the following resources from our Instructional Technology Resources page:  http://instech.rusd.org/.  Follow the instructions below to access the resources.  A copy of the instructions for accessing these resources can be downloaded here.

  • ACT Aspire  9-12  The ACT Aspire online testing system is comprised of three components. ACT Aspire Portal is where you will perform your administrative tasks.  TestNav 8 is where students will log in to take tests. ACT Aspire Admin is for ACT use only.    
  • Atomic Learning  ​(K-12) Atomic Learning is an online technology training and professional development tool for educators and students.  With Atomic Learning, all teachers, students and parents have access to technology training tutorials on over 205 applications–all available 24 hours a day, seven days a week at school and from home.
  • Badgerlink  K-12  Students, Educators, and Librarians!  BadgerLink provides access to many educational resources, including:
    • 3,100 royalty-free songs and sound effects
    • 8,000+ full text magazines and journals
    • Primary sources like firsthand accounts and American foundational documents
    • Standards-based content including reference books, encyclopedias, photos, maps, flags, animations, and videos
    • STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) materials such as science experiments and skill-building practice tests
    • Test preparation materials and practice tests for ACT, SAT, AP, ASVAB, GED, and more!
    • Badgerlink provides access to a number of databases including: ENCYCLOPEDIA BRITANNICA, Kids Search - Student Research Center - Searchasaurus - ProQuest - Wisconsin Newsstand - Ethnic NewsWatch - African American Biographical Database- Learning Express Library-  NewspaperARCHIVE - TeachingBooks – LitFINDER.

  • Compass Learning COMPASS LEARNING/ODYSSEY provides a personalized and differentiated learning path in reading and math for kindergarten through grade 5 based on student's individual NWEA-MAP RIT scores.
  • Culturegrams  K-12  Cultural reports for 190 countries and territories each include 25 categories such as land and climate, history, personal appearance, greetings, gestures, family, diet, holidays, economy, education, health, and events and trends.
  • Discovery Education  K-12 A digital video-on-demand and online teaching service to help improve students' retention and test scores; it is aligned to U.S. state and provincial standards.    Login same way you login to machine (students and teachers).
  • First in Math 1-5 FIRST IN MATH is a  progression-based, interactive math program for elementary grades 1-5 and recommended middle school students.
  • Flocabulary  K-12 Flocabulary is an online library of educational hip-hop songs and videos for grades K-12. Over 20,000 schools use Flocabulary to engage and inspire students.   • Spelling City K-12  An award-winning game-based learning tool for vocabulary, spelling, writing and language arts
  • Student RUSD Gmail Account K-12  RUSD gmail account that is provided through the district.  All students must sign an internet agreement form upon first login.  NOTE: Please be aware that your Google Apps account is part of the Racine Unified School District (RUSD) computerized communications system. Any use of this system that violates RUSD or Board of Education policies may lead to disciplinary action.
  • Think Central (Elementary Reading) K-5   ThinkCentral is an all-in-one learning site that provides access to online materials such as digital books, activities, readers, and more.  “My Library” gives you access to the online version of the text, as well as any other materials the teacher has made available.
  • Tumblebooks (K-4) , Tumblecloud Jr. (3-6), Tumblecloud (5-12)  Collection of read-along titles which features adjustable online text and complete audio narration.  Sentences are highlighted as they are being read and pages turn automatically.
  • Typing Club  K-6  This online program will assist you with learning and improving your typing speed!  Login with your username and password of your machine.  Anyone with a gmail account can have an account.
  • WISCareers (6-12)  Career Awareness, Career Exploration and Career Preparation for MS and HS students.
